PLEASE READ: ANIMAL TESTING

Animal testing is something most of us know is happening within the beauty industry but we choose to ignore it, because we love using our favourite brands/products. Most of your beauty products today are tested on poor innocent animals especially rabbits (from my research) and I'm going to tell you which beauty brands are testing on animals.

This post isn't to force you to stop buying your favourite mascara by L'Oreal or Maybelline, but to make you more aware of animal testing. I love animals so I am definitely  going to be careful which products I buy from now. My dog trips over and I say sorry to him lol, if I accidentally step on his paw I make sure I apologise to him and make sure his okay. God knows how these animals must feel when they are being tested on.

After watching some videos on Youtube I found out some pretty gruesome stuff. Bunnies are clamped so they can't go anywhere and beauty products + household products are poured into their eyes and onto their skin, and are left for 48 hours. They see what kind of reaction the product has on them, and then the bunnies are killed. Bunnies aren't the only ones used for animal testing, there are many many more!

Disturbing right? Well, here are some brands that test on animals:

- Aussie
- Avon
- Bobbi Brown
- Caudalie
- Chanel ( YES CHANEL! *sadface* )
- Clinique
- Dove
- Garnier
- Jo Malone
- L'Occotaine
- L'Oreal
- MAC
- Maybelline
- Maxfactor
- Pantene
- Revlon
- Rimmel
- Shu Umera
- Tom Ford
- Vaseline
- Veet
- Yves Roches
- YSL

Many big companies like COTY and L'Oreal are known for testing on animals, however they own other brands who don't actually test on animals. COTY has recently bought OPI & Essie - both very popular nail polish brands. OPI & Essie have never tested their products on animals before however they may start, but it hasn't been confirmed if they will continue to be ethical or not. The same with L'Oreal, they own The Body Shop ( believe it or not - how contradicting?)  however they don't test on animals either. Please be more aware and think before you purchase a product from these brands. If you want to find out which other brands test on animals, you can visit the PETA website here which has a list of brands who do test on animals and a list of brands who don't test on animals.

I'm definitely going to be more careful which brands I buy from now as I'm really disgusted what animals are put through. It's not easy banning all products tested on animals, I mean I found Air Wick, Always, Vicks and many more on the list of those who do test on animals. Some household products you can't exactly ban, I mean Always, Vicks and Air Wick and many others you can't really stop using. But please be more aware of what is happening to those poor little animals. Sign petitions, stop buying products from those brands. Do something. Have a heart!

Are you against animal testing?
