Unwashed Makeup Brushes Close Up
Are you guilty of not washing your makeup brush regularly? Don't worry we've all been there, but put a stop to it right now.
Old makeup, oils, bacteria and dead skin cells live in unwashed makeup brushes and build up over time. Imagine the dirt you're applying to your skin as well as your makeup products. Nasty right?
From washing your makeup brush/brushes regularly and I mean regularly (not once or twice a month) you can preserve the life of your brush as well as help your skin. If your using a makeup brush to apply a liquid or cream, you should really be washing your brush everyday. I know it can be a bit of a pain to keep washing your brush, but trust me it's super easy! I always use shampoo to wash my makeup brushes and it takes me around 5 minutes and then I leave them to dry on a flat surface.
Here's how I clean mine...
Here's how I clean mine...
Grab a bottle of shampoo...
Soak the brush under luke warm water
Rinse
Just get rid of the excess water
Lay your brush/brushes flat to dry and ta daaa!
You can also buy brush cleaners and conditioners, which instantly cleans and dries them in seconds. But if you're like me and you want to thoroughly clean them, then I recommend using shampoo. I've heard you can also use olive oil...yes I know weird right?
You wash your face everyday, so why not your makeup brushes?
How often do you clean your makeup brush?
I try at least once a week... so bad I know!
ReplyDeleteI try every other day with my powder brushes, but foundation brush everyday because it goes all nasty. It's understandable though can take up some time lol. Thanks for reading doll :) xxx

ReplyDeleteGreat post, this is exactly how I wash my brushes! :) xx
ReplyDeleteYou are so right that everyone should clean their brushes as often as their face! Think of all of the germs that stay on the hair otherwise! Yuck.

Thank you for the eye opener! Usually I wash them every time I used them, but sometimes you just forget it. And then you avoid it. And then you're 2 weeks further.. So bad!!
